Flash fiction inspired by The Daily Post’s daily prompt – Journey

Travel weary and hungry, the highway rolled on ahead, all smooth and soothing. The sky was purple blue with the oncoming dusk. Tail lights scattered the asphalt like sprinkles on a travelling cupcake. The sheer comfort of the drive settling minds and stomachs, it was good to be on solid ground.

Just one stop to refuel car and passengers and then onto the dark and sleepy ride once again. No complaints, no gripes, just satin like travel at no determined pace as the journey moves on.
